When a patient needs to have a specialty surgery, such as an orthopedic surgery, the procedure will be performed by board certified Dr. Deangelis.
Dr. Martin DeAngelis received both his Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine and Doctor of Veterinary Science from the University of Illinois. He took both Internship and Residency at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan, and later held positions there as Chief of Orthopedic Services and Chief of Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, has authored numerous scientific publications, and has lectured throughout the United States and Europe.
Throughout his career he has earned numerous accolades and honors, including the Legend Award in 2006 from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Given in recognition of surgical procedures that have proven their value by becoming the treatment of choice for a specific condition, the ACVS has only awarded this honor twice in its long history.
In addition, the veterinary community worldwide recognizes Dr. DeAngelis as the innovator of what is the best practice for the extracapsular surgical technique in the repair of cranial cruciate ligament ruptures, which has improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of animal owners and their pets.
